A Look Back at 2025: My Biggest Year of Photography Yet
As I sit down to reflect on 2025, I don’t really know how to summarize it other than this: it was my biggest year of photography ever — and by a lot. This year stretched me, humbled me, and reminded me just how lucky I am to do this work. It also taught me a lot about my limits, my priorities, and what matters most as I move forward.
The Numbers That Still Don’t Feel Real
In 2025, I photographed:
26 weddings
33 elopements
5 church events
2 styled shoots
26 family and engagement sessions
I also shot at five venues that were completely new to me, traveled farther for a wedding than I ever have before (three hours each way), and somehow did all of that while finding out I was pregnant with our third baby — including one long travel day at six weeks pregnant that I’ll… probably never forget. Seeing those numbers written out honestly still feels surreal.
The Trust Still Amazes Me
No matter how many years I’ve been doing this, the part that never stops hitting me is the trust. Being invited into some of the biggest, most meaningful moments of people’s lives is not something I take lightly — and it’s something I’m incredibly grateful for. From quiet elopements to packed dance floors, from emotional vows to golden hour portraits, I’ve been honored to tell so many stories this year. If you trusted me with your wedding, your engagement, or your family photos in 2025 — thank you. Truly.
Loving My Work and Learning My Limits
I love what I do. Deeply. But 2025 also taught me that loving your work doesn’t mean you don’t have limits — and that listening to those limits is just as important as passion. With two little ones at home and a third on the way, I’ve become even more aware of how much energy this job requires — physically, emotionally, and creatively. This year helped me understand where I thrive, where I need margin, and how important it is to protect both my work and my family life. That learning will absolutely shape how I move forward.
Looking Ahead to 2026
As busy and full as 2025 was, I’m stepping into 2026 with so much gratitude and clarity. I’m excited about what’s ahead — the weddings, the stories, the growth — but I’m also committed to creating a career that’s sustainable, fulfilling, and aligned with the season of life I’m in. To everyone who has supported me, referred me, worked alongside me, or trusted me with their memories this year: thank you. I wouldn’t be here without you.
Here’s to 2026 and everything it brings.
