Hope & James’ Summer Wedding at Stonegate Glass Chapel

One of the Hottest Days of the Year—and One of the Prettiest, Too

Some weddings are beautiful. Some are meaningful. Some make you sweat (literally). And somehow, Hope & James’ summer wedding at Stonegate Glass Chapel was all three.

This one was extra special for me - Hope is actually family! She’s one of those third-or-fourth cousins where no one really remembers the exact title, but our families have always lived close together and shared all the big moments. Getting to photograph her wedding felt like such a full-circle moment.

Definitely a SUMMER Wedding

It was the hottest day of the year (no exaggeration), but you wouldn’t know it from the photos. Everything looked fresh, soft, and stunning - light blue as the primary color, with pastel florals in pink, purple, yellow, and blue. Easily one of my favorite color schemes of the year.

We started the day with detail photos (Hope had everything perfectly laid out), followed by a few getting ready moments and then a really sweet first look with her dad. Both of them cried, and it was such a special, quiet pause before the day fully kicked off.

Chapel Moments

Then came Hope & James’ first look, which was equally heartfelt - these two just have such a gentle, grounded presence together. We took portraits in the chapel before heading outside for bridal party photos. Huge shout-out to the bridal party for hiking up the hill to find the best light - it made all the difference.

The ceremony was filled with joyful moments and meaningful traditions, including congregational singing that echoed so beautifully through the chapel. (You’ll find a video in my Instagram highlights if you’re curious - there’s just something so peaceful about hymns in that space.)

After the ceremony, we captured family portraits, and I have to say - this was one of the best-dressed extended families I’ve seen! Everyone coordinated so well. I might be biased, but they looked so put together.

A Relaxed Reception Vibe

From there, we moved into the reception, which was intimate and relaxed. There wasn’t any dancing - just dinner, toasts, cake, and genuinely good conversation. One of the most memorable parts of the evening was a surprise bouquet dedication from Hope to her mom, Joy. She had the florist recreate Joy’s wedding bouquet and presented it during the reception. It was such a thoughtful, emotional moment - and just one more reason why this day stood out.

Hope & James’ wedding was classic and elegant, but also deeply personal. It was beautiful without being showy, emotional without being overwhelming, and full of love from start to finish. I’m so grateful I got to be there with them.
