Hayley & Dakota at Thorncrown Chapel
Some wedding days are quiet, meaningful, and deeply personal — and Hayley and Dakota’s elopement was exactly that. Their November elopement at Thorncrown Chapel was small, intimate, and incredibly beautiful. Having photographed so many weddings at Stonegate Glass Chapel, I had been especially excited for this one — it was a chance to experience a different glass chapel setting while still leaning into the timeless, light-filled atmosphere I love so much.
Getting Ready & Heading to the Chapel
We started the day with a few getting ready photos at a nearby Airbnb before heading to Thorncrown for the ceremony. The pace was calm and intentional — no rushing, no distractions — just space to soak in the moment. The weather could not have been better for a late fall elopement. Cool, comfortable, and clear, it felt like one of those days where everything outside quietly cooperates.
A Truly Intimate Ceremony
Hayley and Dakota’s ceremony at Thorncrown Chapel was simple and heartfelt. With just a small group present, the focus stayed exactly where it should be — on the two of them and the commitment they were making. The light filtering through the glass, the surrounding woods, and the stillness of the space made it feel incredibly peaceful. It was one of those ceremonies where you can feel how intentional every choice was.
Portraits & Real-Life Moments
During portraits, there was a brief moment where real life interrupted the flow — I took a small tumble while moving backward a little too quickly. Thankfully, Hayley and Dakota were incredibly kind and patient, and after a few minutes to reset, we were able to finish their portraits without missing a beat.
Those moments always serve as a reminder that weddings don’t need to be perfectly choreographed to be beautiful. Flexibility, grace, and trust go a long way — and this couple embodied all of it.
Final Thoughts
Hayley and Dakota’s elopement was a reminder of why small weddings can be so powerful. Thoughtful, intentional, and free from pressure, their day focused on what mattered most — and it showed in every moment.
I’m so thankful I got to be part of such a meaningful chapter for them.
