Sidney & Isaac’s Samuel Cedars Spring Wedding
Sidney and Isaac were married on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Samuel Cedars, and somehow… Missouri decided it was already summer. We’re talking 90 degrees in March — which felt a little aggressive, but also gave us exactly what we needed for the kind of light this day deserved.
A Wedding I Was Looking Forward To
This was a wedding I had been looking forward to for a while. I had photographed Sidney and Isaac’s engagement session the summer before, and Sidney had very kindly shared that while she loved most of the photos, she was hoping for just a bit more warmth and golden light overall. It wasn’t a big issue at all — but it mattered to me. She communicated it so respectfully, and honestly, it just made me even more excited for the wedding day. I really wanted to make sure we created exactly what she was envisioning this time around — especially that soft golden hour glow. (And in March… that’s never a guarantee.)
Spring Colors That Just Worked
We started the day with detail photos, and Sidney had chosen a mix of pink, purple, orange, and blue for her colors. I’ll be honest — I wasn’t totally sure how it was all going to come together at first. But it worked so well. Against the green trees and warm wood tones of Samuel Cedars, everything felt vibrant without being overwhelming. It ended up being one of my favorite color palettes for spring.
Meaningful First Looks
After details, we moved into getting ready photos, including a few really cute PJ moments with the girls. Before the ceremony, Sidney shared first looks with both her dad and her stepdad, followed by Isaac’s first look with his mom. These were such meaningful moments and really set the tone for the rest of the day.
A Traditional Ceremony with Personal Touches
Isaac wanted to keep things more traditional when it came to seeing Sidney, so they chose not to do a first look together. Instead, we used that time to knock out bridal party photos — including a few fun shots featuring shotguns that fit the rustic Samuel Cedars vibe perfectly.
The ceremony was beautiful… and definitely warm. One of the most touching moments was Sidney’s walk down the aisle. Her stepdad walked her most of the way, then invited her dad to join them for the final part. It was such a simple moment, but incredibly meaningful. They also shared personal vows during the ceremony, and we got to hear a little more about their story — which started with Sidney asking Isaac to prom.
Keeping Things Moving (and Cool)
Because of the temperature, we kept post-ceremony photos a little more efficient so everyone could head inside and cool off sooner. It made a big difference in how the rest of the evening felt and helped everything stay relaxed instead of rushed.
A Full and Fun Reception
Their reception was packed in the best way — first dance, dinner, parent dances, cake cutting, the shoe game, money dance, and anniversary dance. It was a full evening, but everything flowed really well and kept guests engaged the entire time.
The Golden Hour We Were Hoping For
And then — the moment we had been hoping for all day — golden hour showed up. We stepped back outside for sunset portraits, and it was exactly what Sidney had envisioned. Warm, glowy, and soft in all the right ways. Those few minutes made such a difference, and it was the perfect way to close out portraits.
A Fun Ending to the Night
To end the night, Sidney and Isaac opted for LED streamers for their send-off — such a fun alternative, and it photographed beautifully.
Final Thoughts
Sidney and Isaac’s wedding was such a good reminder of how much thoughtful communication and trust can shape the experience. From the very beginning, Sidney was kind, clear, and intentional — and that carried all the way through the wedding day. Even with unexpected heat and a packed timeline, the day felt joyful, relaxed, and full of moments that mattered.
And yes — we got that golden hour.
