Brooke & Michael’s Engagement Session at Tower Grove Park in St. Louis
Brooke and Michael’s engagement session took place on March 12, 2026 at Tower Grove Park in St. Louis, and it ended up being one of those early spring days that just feels like a win all around.
A Special Trip for Their Session
I don’t usually travel very far for engagement sessions, but this was a special request from Brooke and Michael — and I’m so glad we made it happen. It’s always fun getting to photograph in a new location, especially when it means capturing a place that feels meaningful to the couple.
The Best Kind of Early Spring Day
For mid-March in Missouri, we could not have asked for better weather. It was sunny, comfortable, and felt like that perfect in-between where winter is clearly over but summer hasn’t taken over yet.
Even better — we had early blooms everywhere. Between the soft light and the pops of color starting to show up around the park, everything felt fresh without being overly busy. It was one of those rare early spring combinations where everything just worked.
From Nervous to Natural
Brooke and Michael had mentioned beforehand that they were a little nervous about being in front of the camera, which is something I hear all the time.
And honestly… you would never have known.
They fell into such a natural rhythm so quickly. The way they interacted, laughed, and just settled into the session made everything feel easy. Those are always my favorite sessions — when it doesn’t feel forced, and things just click.
Light, Blooms, and the Perfect Setting
Between the lighting and the early spring blooms, this session came together in the best way. The soft sunlight paired with the fresh colors gave everything that light, airy feel while still keeping true-to-color tones.
It was simple, relaxed, and really let Brooke and Michael shine without anything feeling overdone.
Looking Ahead to Their Wedding Day
I’m already so excited to photograph Brooke and Michael’s wedding this weekend back in St. Louis at the Missouri Botanical Gardens. If their engagement session is any indication, it’s going to be such a good day.
