Zoe & Max’s Wedding at The Creek

Zoe and Max were married on April 25, 2026 at The Creek, and this is one of those weddings that’s hard to put into words. Not because of over-the-top details or a “luxury” label (although yes - it was absolutely gorgeous), but because of the people. This wedding will easily go down as one of my top five — simply because of who Zoe and Max are.

A Story That Started Months Before the Wedding

Zoe first reached out to me about photographing their wedding several months before their original date - June 27, 2026. From the very beginning, she was kind, excited, and just genuinely joyful about the entire process. We did their engagement session in September, and I fell even more in love with them as a couple - and their sweet little 9-month-old.

A couple of months later, I found out I was pregnant… and measuring further along than expected, which meant my due date was going to fall very close to their wedding. I dreaded having that conversation, but I knew I didn’t want to risk a last-minute situation where I couldn’t be there for them.

Zoe’s response is something I don’t think I’ll ever forget.

She was incredibly gracious - and later that same night, she reached out asking if they could move their entire wedding date up a couple of months so that I could still photograph it. I genuinely could not believe it. It was one of the most thoughtful things a client has ever done for me. And in a way that still feels hard to fully explain, everything ended up aligning exactly how it needed to. By the time their original date would have come around, we would have needed to postpone anyway.

Getting Into Wedding Mode

A few weeks before the wedding, Zoe decided she wanted to do a bridal session at the same location as their engagement photos - which I was more than happy to do. We ended up scheduling it just two days before the wedding, and honestly, it couldn’t have worked out better. It felt like the perfect transition into the weekend - getting into that “wedding mode” in a really natural way.

Zoe was, of course, absolutely stunning. But more than that, she was incredibly kind. She made a point - again - to check in on me and how I was doing, which meant more than I can really put into words.

The Details (and So Much Intention)

By the time the wedding day arrived, it felt like everything had been building toward this moment. Zoe had designed her invitations herself, and they matched her florals - which she also created - so seamlessly. Every detail felt intentional and cohesive without being overdone.

Max had asked to include both his gun and his cigar in the groom details, which added such a personal, grounded element that I ended up loving. The bridal suite at The Creek was also a dream to work in - soft light, neutral tones, and space that made everything feel calm from the start.

First Looks and Finding Our Rhythm

Zoe shared first looks with her bridesmaids, her dad, and her stepdad before finally seeing Max. Each one was emotional in its own way and gave the day a really steady, meaningful pace.

Their first look together was so sweet. The lighting in that section was a little tricky, which happens sometimes, but everything came together beautifully.

This was also my first time working with their videographer, which always comes with a little bit of unknown. But by the end of the day, people were asking if we worked together all the time. We naturally fell into the same rhythm and even gravitated toward the same light - which made the entire day feel seamless and honestly really fun to be a part of.

A Ceremony by the Creek

Their ceremony took place right by the creek, and the setting could not have been more perfect. It was peaceful, beautiful, and felt like it fit them exactly - not overly formal, not overly styled, just meaningful and grounded.

Portraits That Felt Like Them

After the ceremony, we moved into family photos and then back into bride and groom portraits. This part of the day felt especially special because it tied so closely to their engagement and bridal sessions. The same soft, natural feel carried through - especially in some of the barn photos - and it all felt very cohesive in a way that doesn’t always happen so naturally.

Golden Hour and a “Small” Adjustment

After a quick stop inside for food, we headed back out for golden hour - and it did not disappoint. Some of my favorite photos from the entire day happened near a tree that the videographer had spotted. The only issue was a very unfortunate dead branch hanging down in the frame…

Which I may or may not have removed myself. One of those moments where being both a photographer and a venue owner comes in handy — sometimes you just fix the problem and keep going.

A Day That Meant More Than Just Photos

This wedding came at a time when I needed it more than I expected. We were in the final stretch of moving - literally closing on the sale of our house just two days later - and everything felt like a lot. It had been a heavy, emotional season, and stepping into this day felt like a reset.

More than that, this was a wedding where I felt fully present in a different way. Not just capturing moments, but helping when it was needed. Fixing a bustle. Finding missing items. Keeping things moving calmly. It felt good to show up that way - not just as a photographer, but as someone who could genuinely support the day.

Looking Ahead

Zoe and I have already started talking about future maternity and newborn sessions, which feels like such a full-circle moment in the best way.

Final Thoughts

Some weddings stand out because of how they look. Others stand out because of how they feel.

Zoe and Max’s wedding was both - but more than anything, it was a day built on kindness, trust, and intentionality. The kind of wedding that reminds you why you love what you do in the first place.

And the kind you don’t forget.
