Hannah & Ryan’s Fall Engagement Session at Finley Farms
Some sessions work out exactly as planned — and others work out even better because the plan changes.
Hannah and Ryan’s engagement session is definitely the second kind.
We originally had this session scheduled earlier in the fall, but after a reschedule (which can feel stressful in the moment), everything lined up perfectly. Fall arrived a little later than usual this year, and by the time we met at Finley Farms, the color was just right. The trees were glowing, the light was soft, and the whole space felt calm and unhurried — which is exactly what you want for engagement photos.
A Full-Circle Moment
This session was extra special for me because Hannah and Ryan already felt like familiar faces. I photographed Hannah’s sister Holly’s wedding back in 2023, and Ryan was there too — so getting to reconnect with both of them, this time for their own engagement session, felt like a really sweet full-circle moment. I love when photography allows me to cross paths with the same people again at different seasons of life, and this session was a perfect example of that.
Why Finley Farms Was the Perfect Fit
Finley Farms is always a favorite for engagement sessions, but it really shines in the fall. Between the natural textures, open spaces, and variety of backdrops, it’s one of those locations that offers flexibility without feeling overwhelming. Hannah and Ryan were relaxed, easygoing, and fully leaned into the moment — which made the session feel effortless. We were able to move naturally through the space, letting the scenery and their connection do the heavy lifting.
Looking Ahead to May
I’m so excited for Hannah and Ryan’s wedding this coming May at Mighty Oak Lodge. If their engagement session was any indication, their wedding day is going to be full of warmth, joy, and so many genuine moments. Rescheduling this session ended up being such a blessing, and it’s a great reminder that sometimes the best results come when you give things a little extra time.
