A Late Summer Glow | Jasmine & Tanner’s Wedding at Samuel Cedars
Some weddings just feel like summer - warm, heartfelt, meaningful, and full of joy. Jasmine and Tanner’s wedding at Samuel Cedars had all of that and more.
It was a hot day (classic Missouri in August), but with a later outdoor ceremony and the prettiest golden-hour light, everything fell into place. Their colors - orange and green - were such a bold and unique choice, and they worked beautifully for a late summer wedding. Paired with the most stunning florals and a glowing sunset, this day was just as vibrant as the couple themselves.
Getting Ready Moments That Mattered
We started the day with detail photos, and I loved that Jasmine and Tanner came in with inspiration they’d shared ahead of time. They really cared about the little things - especially the shoes. Tanner wore boots that belonged to his dad, who wore them when marrying Tanner’s late mom. Needless to say, those photos carried a lot of weight and meaning, and I was so honored to document them.
Getting ready photos were a top priority, too - and I’m so glad they were. From quiet moments with her bridesmaids to the emotional first look with her dad, there was so much joy and love woven into the early part of the day. It set the tone for everything that followed.
No First Look - But the Glow Made Up For It
Jasmine and Tanner opted not to do a first look, which meant we saved their portraits for after the ceremony. And honestly? Worth it. With the ceremony timed just right, we hit that golden-hour sweet spot for bride and groom portraits. The sun was low, the glow was real, and they absolutely nailed the romantic, playful vibe they’re known for.
(If you saw their engagement session, you won’t be surprised to hear that Tanner immediately started doing the signature “lift” photos again - his favorite move!)
An Italian Cream Soda Reception? Yes, Please.
Jasmine and Tanner went with a more traditional “cake and punch” style reception - but gave it a fun twist by serving Italian cream sodas instead of punch. Such a cute and refreshing detail! Their reception space was cozy, welcoming, and full of laughter. Once the cake was cut (and the sodas were flowing), the dancing kicked off and never really stopped.
We even snuck out for a few sunset portraits in between - and got some of my favorite shots of the whole day.
A Bubble Send-Off That Shined
I’ll be honest: I’m usually a little cautious about bubble exits at night, just because lighting can be tricky. But this one? Absolutely worked. The light caught the bubbles just right, the couple’s joy was contagious, and it turned out to be such a fun and magical way to end the night.
Final Thoughts
From meaningful heirlooms to golden portraits to the happiest dance floor, Jasmine and Tanner’s day at Samuel Cedars was filled with heart. Even with the heat, every moment felt intentional and grounded in love - and that’s what makes it a favorite in my book.
