Alivia & Cade’s Engagement Session at Finley Farms

Alivia & Cade sharing a laugh while walking side by side

Some sessions just feel effortlessly sweet from the very beginning, and Alivia & Cade’s engagement session at Finley Farms was exactly that. From the moment we started, they were so excited and totally up for anything—which always makes for the best kind of session. They trusted the process, leaned into the fun, and honestly made my job so easy.

We did have a bit of a surprise to work around—because of course, it was prom night in Springfield. There were probably 50 or 60 high schoolers (plus all their families) crowding all of my usual favorite photo spots. But honestly, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Having to get creative meant exploring parts of Finley Farms I don’t always use, and I kind of loved how those spots turned out. It pushed me to think outside the box a little more, and these two rolled with it perfectly.

Cade took the “attack with kisses” prompt very seriously, which led to some hilarious moments for all of us. And it’s not every day that a couple is willing to sit in their nice clothes basically in the dirt for the perfectly lit golden-hour shot—but they didn’t hesitate for a second. Watching their sweet dynamic unfold during the session was just one of those things that makes me love what I do. You can feel how much they love each other. Cade helping Alivia over a fallen tree just about melted my heart.

I already can’t wait for their wedding in July at Stonegate Glass Chapel. If this session was any indication, it’s going to be an absolute dream.
